Simple Adsense Tips

Officially moved from The Record Card, my old blog.

Following a forum thread which I really got into, I've made a thorough list of tips and advice on how to get the most out of your website with Google Adsense. But I've decided to keep it simple, Short and easy.

I've writte for those who have one site, but if you're planning on making a job out of this there is quite a bit more to it. I've drown quite a bit on my experiences with Adsense over the past year here, and can vouch for most of these. All of this is common sense if you've read Google's own guide and have playing with ads at all.

Update: Using these tips I have managed to increase my adsense revenues for this month of October by over 1100% on Buster Teats. Obviously, I'm delighted.
  1. Follow the Google heat map
they have a comprehensive diagram which will help you place the adverts in the best place possible.

  2. Write great content
cover your topic completely, and make sure it's qiality content which people will come back for.

  3. Add to your site offen
larger sites which cover more ground are going to do better; write a quality new article a day abd in a year's time you'll have loads of stuff behind you!

  4. Diversify your subject
Don't be afraid to expand and explore your niche.

  5. One topic = one page
where you can, this will increases the targeting of the ads and make clickthroughts more likely.

  6. Get rid of visual and structural bloat
remove unnecessary items on your site; extra links and images which go to places which waste visitors.

  7. Make the first ads be the reddest in the heat map
ads that are higher up in your pages code will pay better, so use CSS and clever design to place things properly

  8. Use adlinks
they seem to work very well because they['re solution-oriented. Buster Tests only has one, but it seems to do very well.

  9. Very collors
but keep it looking nice and in line with your site, helping to reduce ad-blindness and keep things fresh.

  10. Use channels to try new things out
try out new adverts in new places often using the channels feature. You might find a gold spot and be able to elaborate on the page a little, or you might find a really good place for your ads.

  11. Never think you are at your highest
you might think you have it good, but there still might be another little change which helps your CTR or whatnot.

  12. Don't click on your own ads
or break the terms and conditions in any way; read them to be sure.

  13. Make sure no one is stealing your shizzle
I use copyscape to make my articles and tests aren't being copied - it works very well, but just searching for a random sentence froma long article in Google will do random sentence from a long articles to Google, etc.

  14. Report content copiers to Google, etc.
don't let them profit from your hard work.

  15. Promote your site for relevant traffic
on the other sites which matter and link-there's always a good few which send traffic flying towords you.

  16. Be honourable
provide good content and match make visitors eith advertisers.
